This program brings together three short films about people who refuse to fit into standard boxes. Instead, each story follows a protagonist who navigates the world entirely on their own terms, carving out unique, quiet, and unexpected ways to exist. By looking at life through their eyes, these films show us the beauty and friction of choosing a path that is entirely your own.
In Ship of Fools, an eccentric man living in the shadow of Beirut’s port imagines himself as a superhero, using fantasy to cope with the heavy, lingering ghosts of Lebanon's past turmoil. The White-Winged Horse follows a man returning to his childhood hometown after years away, forcing him to face a place completely transformed by time and his own deep sense of estrangement. Finally, Sultana’s Reign introduces the unforgettable Sultana, an extravagant and charismatic force who openly navigates gender, identity, and self-expression entirely on their own terms.
